Pro-Tex® Pigeons

TEX-OE is the active ingredient of Pro-Tex® Pigeons. A natural product derived from the fruit of the Prickly Pear that stimulates the production of heat shock proteins.

Microscope Course

I am proposing to hold another course on Sunday June 29th 2008. The venue is Wincanton Laboratory. A last chance to check your young bird race team out with some guidance. The course will only run if there is a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 8 participants.

Current Causes of Mortality

  • - Paratyphus - rapid weight loss, mortality, very watery droppings, inability to walk or fly.
  • - Paramyxovirus - very watery droppings, nervous signs (difficulty balancing, walking, flying), inability to pick up food. Mortality usually because cannot eat. Very difficult to distinguish from above on clinical signs alone.
  • - Young bird sickness - rapid weight loss in young birds over 7 weeks of age, some mortality bird still in fair condition, very watery droppings with green faeces in it. Sometimes but not always vomiting/regurgitation may be seen.
